High definition tv is taking television viewing to another level. If we consider for instance the following tv with 1080p, 3,000,000:1 contrast, 240Hz. The definition is so high that it is possible to see the difference between very well executed special effects and the weaker special effects. One can tell how the green screen is used so that the magic that the special effects was trying to create is lost. Surely we all remember our original televisions, growing up, some of us even had black and white. The first television we sat in front of with our family growing up was 13 inches, the entire box surrounding it was larger than the picture. Recently, in the last few years we have seen televisions getting slimmer, lighter weight, and the picture quality is amazing. Plasma televisions were hot and still have a quality picture, yet they are 2-5 inches deep, not what I would consider slim, compared with the newer options of LCD and LED technology. (more…)
